Kazakhstan's currency market is ending the first week of October with the tenge weakening: the dollar has risen for a second consecutive day on the exchange and has already surpassed the psychological mark of 450 tenge, which has also affected prices at exchange offices in major cities, according to infohub.kz.
According to data from the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), the American currency continued to appreciate during Friday trading after a recent correction. By 15:30, the weighted average rate stood at 453.93 tenge per dollar, up 4.06 tenge.
The euro also showed growth, reaching 509.76 tenge, which is 6.13 tenge higher than the previous value. It is important to note that by the close of trading at 17:00, exchange rates may change.
According to the Kurs.kz portal, as of 15:30, exchange offices in major cities posted the following prices for cash dollars. In Astana, the buying rate is 449 tenge, selling — 456 tenge. In Almaty, buying ranges from 450 to 455 tenge, selling — from 455.5 to 457 tenge. In Shymkent, buying — from 453.5 to 454.5 tenge, selling — from 456 to 456.5 tenge.
Amid the euro's rise, its value at exchange offices has also been updated. In Astana, buying ranges from 500 to 502 tenge, selling — from 510 to 512 tenge. In Almaty, buying — from 502 to 510 tenge, selling — from 511 to 516 tenge. In Shymkent, buying — from 503 to 510.5 tenge, selling — from 508 to 515 tenge.
