The dollar weakened against the Kazakhstani tenge by nearly 7 tenge over the past week. The weighted average exchange rate of the US currency on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) stood at 470.54 tenge after trading on July 17, down 1.53 tenge from the previous day, according to infohub.kz.

On the previous day, July 16, the dollar rate on KASE was recorded at 472.07 tenge. Thus, over the week (July 13–17), the national currency strengthened by 7.28 tenge: on Monday the rate was 477.11 tenge, and by Friday it had fallen to 470.54 tenge.

The dollar's intraday low was 468.75 tenge, and the high was 473.58 tenge. The closing rate stood at 471.66 tenge. Total trading volume reached $359.7 million, with 1,055 transactions executed.

According to the portal Kurs.kz, at the time of publication, exchange offices in Astana were selling dollars at a maximum of 475 tenge, while in Almaty the rate was up to 474 tenge.

The official exchange rate set by the National Bank of Kazakhstan for July 17 was 472.34 tenge per dollar. For July 18–20, following the calculation procedure, the official rate will be 470.54 tenge.
