Construction has begun in Aktobe on Kazakhstan's first multi-brand KAMAZ service center. The facility will be located along the Southern Bypass Road and will focus on servicing heavy-duty and specialized vehicles, infohub.kz reports.
Total investment in the project is estimated at 3.5 billion tenge. Once operational, the facility will create 70 new jobs in the region. Under the approved plan, the service center will be capable of performing up to 5,000 operations per year. According to the project's initiator, it will be Kazakhstan's first service center of this hybrid format.
Abzal Abdikarimov, deputy akim of Aktobe Region, visited the construction site and stressed to investors the need for high-quality work.
"Supporting entrepreneurs and representatives of small and medium-sized businesses is one of our key tasks. It is important not to halt work and to bring the project to completion within the established deadlines," Abzal Abdikarimov said during the visit.
In its official statement, the Aktobe Region akimat did not disclose the specific legal entity or owner behind the project.
PJSC KAMAZ is a Russian manufacturer of heavy trucks. Its largest shareholder is the Russian state corporation Rostec, which holds 47.1% of the company's shares. In Kazakhstan, the brand has historically been represented by the assembly enterprise KAMAZ-Engineering JSC (vehicle production in the city of Kokshetau) and the KamLitKZ plant (production of cast iron components for trucks).
The founders of the Kazakh assembly enterprise previously included Russia's PJSC KAMAZ (a controlling stake) and the national company Kazakhstan Engineering. However, in late 2025 the Russian auto giant exited the ranks of major direct co-owners of its Kazakh subsidiary, transferring the assets to private structures amid a business restructuring and efforts to minimize sanctions risks.
