The US dollar has reversed course in Kazakhstan, rising again: in trading on October 8, the dollar recovered part of the previous day's decline and approached the 450 tenge mark, according to infohub.kz.

Data from the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) show that trading closed at 449.87 tenge per dollar on a weighted average basis, up 2.66 tenge from the previous level. Thus, days of weakening national currency are again followed by strengthening of the foreign one — the dollar rate remains relatively unstable.

The euro followed the dollar: the single European currency rose to 503.63 tenge, gaining 2.96 tenge.

Exchange offices in major cities also raised their rates, according to data from Kurs.kz. In Astana, one dollar is bought at 447 tenge and sold at 454 tenge; in Almaty, buying ranges from 448 to 452.7 tenge, selling from 453 to 458 tenge; in Shymkent, buying is from 451 to 451.5 tenge, selling from 453 to 454 tenge.

The euro also became more expensive. In Astana, it is bought at 499 tenge and sold from 509 to 510 tenge; in Almaty, buying ranges from 499 to 505.1 tenge, selling from 506.5 to 516 tenge; in Shymkent, buying is from 500 to 505.5 tenge, selling from 507 to 510 tenge.
