In the Akmola region, a donation box intended to help children with disabilities was stolen. The incident occurred in the Bulandinsky district, reports the website infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the regional police department, a theft report was filed. It was established that on August 8 at about 8:00 PM, a glass donation box was stolen from a shopping center in the city of Makinsk.
During operational search measures, police identified a suspect. According to preliminary data, in the evening a man arrived in Makinsk and entered the shopping center. Taking advantage of the lack of attention, he approached the donation box, carried it out through the back entrance, and fled.
Later, in a deserted place, the offender opened the box and took the money inside. The total amount was 22,720 tenge. Part of the money was subsequently spent on purchasing alcoholic beverages.
During the investigation, the man confessed to the theft. A further investigation is underway, and based on its results, measures will be taken in accordance with the law.
