The Ozon logistics center in the Samara region was hit by a devastating overnight drone attack, sparking a massive fire at the facility, according to infohub.kz.

The incident marks the first successful drone strike on this marketplace's infrastructure, which had previously only suffered from attacks on similar facilities of competitors. The emergency evacuation of over 500 employees turned into a tense struggle for safety, with some casualties receiving necessary medical assistance on site.

In a company statement, they announced a temporary halt of operations at the hub. The affected warehouse was quickly hidden from the marketplace's virtual storefront, and customer orders from this direction are being canceled with automatic refunds. The company is urgently restructuring its logistics chains to compensate for the lost capacity by using other distribution centers.

The scenario echoes a recent series of strikes on Wildberries' infrastructure, which had been systematically attacking the competitor's warehouses in various Russian regions over the past months. Bitter experience has shown that such emergencies result in the destruction of millions of goods, billions in losses, and complex disputes over recognizing incidents as force majeure, leaving thousands of sellers and buyers in a critical situation.
