In the Ulan district of the East Kazakhstan region, police used a drone to locate a herd of 12 horses that had wandered off from free-range grazing, reports infohub.kz.
The search was complicated by the vast territory and difficult terrain. To survey the area, police deployed a drone, which allowed them to quickly inspect a large area from the air and determine the animals' whereabouts.
The horses were found 27 kilometers from where they went missing. All animals were returned to their owner.
Police noted that the use of drone technology reduced search time and increased efficiency in open and hard-to-reach areas.
Owners of agricultural animals were reminded to control livestock grazing. The authorities emphasized that uncontrolled animals can not only get lost but also pose a threat to road safety.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Kazakh videographer Dastan Mukhamedrakhim published a video featuring the Akhal-Teke horse of Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, named Akzhan. The horse, of the rare Isabella color, was born in Astana, and the name, meaning "Pure Soul," was personally given by the President.
Akzhan has also been featured in in-flight magazines of Rossiya Airlines, Air Astana, and the Chinese publication Wings of China. The articles noted that she descends from Akhal-Teke horses Ganatly and Tabys.
