Kazakhstan has significantly strengthened road traffic control through the introduction of modern digital technologies. Now, unmanned aerial vehicles, mobile complexes, and average speed control systems are on guard, reports infohub.kz.
As noted on the information media portal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, innovative developments allow police officers to more effectively identify traffic violations, respond promptly to dangerous situations, and prevent road accidents. The department emphasizes: "Today, ensuring public order is implemented with the introduction of digital tools. Rapid response and assistance to citizens are important. Therefore, methods and forms of protecting citizens from criminal encroachments, as well as in the field of road safety, are being improved daily. Digital solutions help identify offenders and bring them to justice."
Unmanned aerial vehicles provide continuous aerial surveillance of traffic. Thanks to this, speed enthusiasts and chronic violators can no longer evade responsibility—violations are recorded from above. However, the main goal of using drones is not punishment but saving the lives and health of Kazakhstani citizens through timely response to dangerous situations.
Another effective police assistant has become mobile complexes installed on patrol cars. They make it easy to detect violations in traffic flow, such as using a mobile phone while driving, failing to yield to pedestrians, speeding, and not following maneuvering rules.
For those who prefer to speed on suburban highways, an average speed control system is used. It analyzes the movement of a vehicle along the entire route. Currently, such a system is implemented on 12 major republican routes, the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified.
To prevent accidents, laser systems are also used, which are especially relevant at night, for drivers experiencing drowsiness behind the wheel, and in adverse weather conditions.
"Along with digital technologies on the roads, we are working on artificially narrowing the roadway. This is done so that drivers reduce speed, increase concentration, and can continue driving more collected. All these measures are aimed at increasing the protection of citizens and reducing the level of accidents on the roads. After all, it is important for us that drivers and passengers, when going on the roads, are confident in their safety," noted Baglanbek Aitpaev, Deputy Chairman of the Administrative Police Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
