Foreign ministers of eight countries issued a joint statement accusing Israel of derailing the Gaza peace plan due to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's rejection of the roadmap proposed by US President Donald Trump, reports infohub.kz.
Jordan's Foreign Ministry published on social media platform X the joint statement by the foreign ministers of eight countries. The document reads: "The Foreign Ministers of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt condemn Israel's declared rejection of the roadmap for completing the implementation of US President Trump's Comprehensive Plan for resolving the conflict in Gaza, endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, as well as Israel's rejection of Palestinian statehood. These positions constitute a direct denial of the Comprehensive Plan, jeopardize its implementation, and fundamentally undermine collective efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace. Such rejection confirms that Israel now bears responsibility for obstructing efforts to establish peace in Gaza and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory."
The statement also notes that the roadmap, adopted by Palestinian factions, is the result of extensive efforts by mediators, namely Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, the United States, the Senior Representative for Gaza, and the Peace Council. The foreign ministers emphasize that the roadmap represents an important milestone in the process of disarmament alongside the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the deployment of International Stabilization Forces, the transfer of administrative authority to the National Committee for Gaza Management, and the reconstruction of Gaza, as stipulated in the Comprehensive Plan.
"Rejection of the roadmap constitutes a clear refusal to continue implementing the Comprehensive Plan and directly threatens to derail the extensive efforts of US President Trump to end the war in Gaza and create conditions for lasting peace. In this regard, the ministers stress the importance of continued and active US engagement to ensure Israel's compliance with all obligations and commitments under the Comprehensive Plan and its roadmap, and to prevent further obstruction of their implementation. They also emphasize that Israel bears direct and full responsibility for any consequences arising from its continued disagreement, obstruction, delay, or non-compliance, including any deterioration of the situation on the ground and the disruption of the process of ending the war in Gaza," the statement said.
Earlier, it became known that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected US President Donald Trump's 15-point plan for Gaza, stating that the withdrawal of Israeli troops would not occur until Hamas is "truly" disarmed.
