Kazakh designer Sabit Sukhamberdiev presented a review of special interiors and functional furniture designed for the elderly. The video went viral on Kaznet, and many users expressed interest in purchasing such items for themselves, according to infohub.kz.
The designer from Astana explained that the furniture focuses on maximum safety, support, and independence. All pieces have rounded, smooth edges without sharp corners, and cabinets, tables, and wardrobe systems feature convenient handrails for easy gripping or leaning.
Chairs and armchairs have firm seats and sturdy armrests to help users stand up and sit down without extra effort, as well as small wheels for easy movement during cleaning. There are also practical details like special cane holders that keep the cane within reach.
Although such solutions were originally created for specialized facilities like hospices, hospitals, and nursing homes, social media users greeted the review with enthusiasm. Many comments note that the minimalist natural wood design looks aesthetic, and the rounded shapes and comfortable support appeal to people of all ages.

Sukhamberdiev told Kursiv LifeStyle that these solutions were created not only for the elderly. His main principle is to design spaces that are primarily comfortable and ergonomic, and only then beautiful and trendy. "I have been a designer for over 20 years. For me, number one is ergonomics. This applies not only to the elderly but to all people: children, parents, singles, newlyweds, and so on," said Sukhamberdiev.
He noted that he also works on comprehensive interiors for private homes, adapting spaces to the needs of adults. "It just so happened that the 'elderly' theme took off. Although before that I was already designing comfortable interiors for everyone. In this case, it is a targeted solution – specifically furniture," explained the designer.
