A date at a cafe in Aktobe ended not only with pleasant company but also with a criminal case, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Aktobe Regional Police Department, the man was treating his acquaintance to alcoholic drinks. In the midst of the party, the woman seized the moment and stole the Aktobe resident's mobile phone. Then, excusing herself to the ladies' room, she decided that a phone alone would not be enough to remember the evening. Using the banking data, she transferred 840,000 tenge from the victim's account to her friend's account.
The man only learned about the missing money the next day when he sobered up and decided to check his bank account. Instead of pleasant memories of the previous evening, he was met with a very unpleasant financial surprise.
The victim contacted the police. Officers quickly identified the suspect and brought her to the police station. As it turned out, the woman had already spent the stolen money on her own needs.
Investigative actions are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
