More than a hundred people, a drone, and Starlink equipment were mobilized to combat a large fire in the Aktobe region, reports infohub.kz.
The dry grass fire broke out the day before in the Ashchylisai rural district of Kargaly district. Due to strong winds, the flames spread quickly, covering about 83 hectares.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, forces and resources of the ministry, volunteers from "Aul Kutkarushylary," servicemen of military unit 20982 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, representatives of rural district akimats, voluntary firefighting units, and forestry workers were involved in extinguishing the fire. In total, about 110 people and more than 20 pieces of equipment took part in the operations.
An unmanned aerial vehicle was used to monitor the situation, and Starlink equipment provided operational communication between the participants, the ministry added.
The fire was completely extinguished, and there were no casualties. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded about the need to follow fire safety rules in natural areas: during the fire hazard period, it is forbidden to light fires and perform actions that could lead to ignition of dry vegetation.
