A fire broke out in a 12-story residential building in Almaty, prompting rescuers to evacuate about 100 people. The incident occurred in the Daraboz microdistrict of the Alatau district, reports infohub.kz.

Witnesses posted a video on the Telegram channel Kris_p_almaty_official showing thick smoke rising from the upper part of the building. It is noted that the building is located opposite a school.

The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that a fire alarm was received at 16:49. Upon arrival, rescuers found open flames in the kitchen of an apartment on the 11th floor.

Emergency workers immediately began reconnaissance, rescue, and evacuation of residents. Using breathing apparatus and rescue hoods, they saved 10 people, including four children, via stairwells. About 100 people were also evacuated.

The fire was fully extinguished, and there were no casualties. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
