In Almaty, a fire broke out in an apartment on the fourth floor of a five-story residential building. Due to heavy smoke, rescuers had to evacuate residents via staircases. Among those saved were five minors, reports the website infohub.kz.

The incident occurred in a house on Turgut Ozal Street. By the time the first fire crews arrived, the entrance was already heavily smoke-filled.

During reconnaissance and firefighting, officers of the Emergency Situations Department led six people out of the building, five of whom were children.

"During reconnaissance and firefighting, the Emergency Situations Department rescued six people via the stairwell, including five children," the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed.

The fire was fully extinguished. According to the ministry, there were no casualties.
