An incident involving a FlyArystan aircraft catching fire occurred at Almaty International Airport, resulting in an injury to an employee of the Air Astana group, according to infohub.kz.
A video posted on the Telegram channel Kozachkow purportedly shows a fire inside a FlyArystan aircraft. The footage shows flames engulfing the cabin and smoke around the airliner.
A NUR.KZ correspondent sent a request to the FlyArystan press service, which confirmed the incident. During scheduled maintenance work on the aircraft, a local fire broke out, which was promptly extinguished by airport emergency services. An employee of the Air Astana group sustained injuries, received medical attention, and was later discharged from the hospital.
At the time of the incident, there were no passengers or crew members on board. The aircraft has been temporarily taken out of service, and damage assessment and repair work are underway. The Air Astana group, together with Almaty airport, is investigating the circumstances of the incident.
