In Petropavlovsk, migration police officers have identified two foreign nationals who were working illegally in the food service industry, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Interior Ministry's website Polisia.kz, a foreign woman was found working in a catering establishment without a permit to work in Kazakhstan. She performed duties both in the kitchen and behind the counter. Additionally, her compatriot worked as a cook in the same establishment, although by law he could only be employed by an individual, not a legal entity.
Police noted that both foreigners and their employer have been brought to administrative responsibility. The Interior Ministry added that regular raids are conducted in the region at markets, cafes, construction sites, and other places where foreign citizens may be present.
Since the beginning of the year, in the North Kazakhstan region, 1,236 foreigners and 593 Kazakhstani citizens have been brought to administrative responsibility for violations of migration legislation. Among them, 308 foreigners were penalized for illegal labor activity, and 85 employers for the illegal use of foreign labor. By court decision, 52 foreigners have been expelled from the country.
Police remind that foreign citizens must comply with established rules of stay and labor activity, and employers can hire foreigners only on legal grounds.
