Bob Chapek, former CEO of Disney, has announced a book about his career and tenure during the pandemic, reports infohub.kz.
Gallery Books will publish the memoir of the former head of media giant Disney, titled "Behind the Castle Walls: My Thirty Years at the Happiest Place on Earth." The book is scheduled for release on September 29.
Chapek spent thirty years at the company, starting in 1993 in the home video division. He became CEO in February 2020, succeeding Bob Iger. His tenure faced significant challenges, including theme park closures and production shutdowns due to the pandemic, as well as public disputes with Florida state officials.
In November 2022, the board of directors terminated Chapek's contract early and reinstated Bob Iger as CEO. The former executive has long refrained from public comment, but in his book, co-written with Don Yaeger, he promises to reveal the inner workings of the corporation and share his perspective on the reasons for his departure.
