Popular Kazakh stand-up comedian Galym Kaliakbarov has broken his silence after the disruption and cancellation of his concerts in Astana and Almaty. The comedian has reason to celebrate: his family has grown, as he and his wife Aida have adopted a Shiba Inu dog from the Inu Foundation, an animal rescue organization, reports infohub.kz.
The foundation shared a photo of the comedian's happy family and noted that the couple was not deterred by the fact that Tami had been a stray. According to Inu Foundation representatives, the couple consciously decided to give her a home and become her new family.
"It is a great joy for our foundation that Tami has found a family. We are also glad that public figures are showing by example that strays and shelter dogs deserve love," the foundation wrote on its Threads account.
Recall that on August 19, 2026, Kaliakbarov's performance in Astana was halted due to the lack of the required notification for a mass event. The organizers were invited to the police department of the Yesil district, where they were given a preventive talk. They were explained the legal requirements and the risks of holding unsanctioned mass events. After the talk, all participants were released.
Following that, the comedian's concert in Almaty on August 21 was also canceled.
Later, Kaliakbarov said that he himself canceled the concerts and took a break due to issues with depression. He also apologized to the Almaty city administration for the negativity directed at it and thanked the audience for their support.
