Galym Kulekeev, who previously headed the civil cases panel, has been appointed chairman of the Karaganda Regional Court, reports infohub.kz.
Supreme Court Chairman Aslambek Mergaliyev introduced the new head to the judicial corps of the Karaganda region. During the event, Mergaliyev thanked Erden Aripov, who completed his term as chairman of the regional court due to retirement, noting his contribution to the development of the region's judicial system. "Presenting the new head, the chairman of the Supreme Court noted that Galym Kulekeev has significant experience in the judicial system, enjoys well-deserved authority among the judicial community, and has an impeccable professional reputation," the statement said. Mergaliyev expressed confidence that under Kulekeev's leadership, the Karaganda Regional Court will continue to improve the quality of justice, effectively protect the rights of citizens and organizations, and further strengthen public trust in the judiciary.
Galym Batyrbekovich Kulekeev was born in 1979 in the city of Karatau, Zhambyl region. In 2000, he graduated from the Law Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in 2002 from the Economics Faculty of M. Kh. Dulaty Taraz State University, and in 2024 from a master's program at the law faculty of the same university. From 2000 to 2007, he held various positions in the judicial system and government agencies. In 2007–2010, he was a judge of the Almaty District Court of Astana; in 2010–2012, chairman of the Zhambyl District Court of the Zhambyl region; from 2012 to 2024, a judge of the Zhambyl Regional Court. Since 2024, he has been chairman of the civil cases panel of the Karaganda Regional Court.
