Sales of the updated Geely Galaxy E5 crossover, known internationally as the Geely EX5, have begun in China. The vehicle features rear-wheel drive, an 800-volt architecture, 6C charging, and a 329-hp electric motor, according to infohub.kz.

The new model is offered in five versions. Prices in China start at 97,800 yuan, with the most expensive trim at 137,800 yuan. The 530km Global Classic is priced at 97,800 yuan (6.5 million tenge), the 550km Smart Charging Voyage at 107,800 yuan (7.2 million tenge), the 550km Smart Charging Exploration at 115,800 yuan (7.7 million tenge), the 635km Smart Charging Exploration+ at 125,800 yuan (8.4 million tenge), and the top-of-the-line 635km Smart Charging LiDAR at 137,800 yuan (9.2 million tenge).

The four more expensive versions have switched to an 800-volt architecture and feature a rear-mounted electric motor producing 245 kW, or 329 hp. That is 114 hp more than the previous version. The base EX5 retains front-wheel drive, a 400-volt system, and a 160-kW (215-hp) motor.

Battery capacities are 60.22, 61.52, or 70.01 kWh. Range is claimed at 530, 550, and 635 km on the Chinese CLTC cycle. Versions with fast charging use 6C technology. The battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in about nine minutes.

The top-end Geely EX5 is the first to get a roof-mounted LiDAR and the G-Pilot H5 intelligent driving system. Its capabilities include autonomous navigation on urban and suburban roads, automatic parking, and other driver-assistance features.

The interior features a 15.4-inch central screen with 2.5K resolution and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Also included are a head-up display, 50W wireless smartphone charging, and the Flyme Auto 2 system. The crossover also gets a 160-liter front trunk, which the previous EX5 lacked.

In the Kazakh market, the Geely Galaxy EX5 is currently offered in PRO and MAX versions. Prices start at 13.9 million tenge. Both trims have front-wheel drive and a 218-hp electric motor, with a battery capacity of 60.2 kWh.

The range of Kazakh EX5s reaches 430 km on the WLTP cycle. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 6.9 seconds, and fast charging from 10% to 80% takes 28 minutes.

Thus, the EX5 updated in China already differs noticeably from the model available in Kazakhstan. It is not yet known when the new versions will reach local dealers.
