Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that the number of monthly active users of the Gemini service has exceeded 1 billion people. This product has shown a record growth rate in the company's history, reports infohub.kz.

Gemini became the 14th Google service to surpass the 1 billion user mark. According to company management, the statistics count people who opened the Gemini app at least once in a month, used the web interface, or launched the Gemini Live voice mode. This metric does not include users who encounter AI in Google Search, Gmail, or other integrated services.

Google Vice President Josh Woodward shared details of assistant usage. Currently, about 63% of active users use voice input to interact with Gemini. Every fifth session in Gemini Live includes camera video streaming or screen sharing. Additionally, the service generates more than 150 million images daily.

On the iOS platform, Gemini's audience has already exceeded 100 million active users. According to the company, the service is showing steady growth in all regions, especially among students and mobile device owners.
