A teaser trailer has arrived online for Guy Ritchie's new film 'Wife and Dog.' The crime thriller stars Benedict Cumberbatch ('Doctor Strange,' 'Sherlock,' 'The Imitation Game'), Rosamund Pike ('Gone Girl,' 'Now You See Me 3'), James Norton ('Little Women') and Anthony Hopkins ('The Silence of the Lambs,' 'Hannibal,' 'Meet Joe Black'), according to infohub.kz.

The story centers on the powerful British Fairbank family. After the death of its patriarch, a battle erupts over the inheritance and control of the family fortune. Big money, status and power are all at stake. The family conflict gradually turns into a tale of betrayal and murder.

The teaser does not yet reveal all the plot details. But it is already clear that Cumberbatch's character finds himself at the center of the struggle. Judging by the clip, his character survives an assassination attempt and returns for revenge. In one scene the actor appears with a baseball bat, in another with a shotgun.

As Empire reports, the film is a fully authorial project for Ritchie. He directed it and wrote the screenplay himself. Ritchie worked in the same format on his well-known films 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' and 'Snatch.'

'Wife and Dog' was shot entirely in the United Kingdom. One of the locations was Sandown Park Racecourse. Horse racing will play a prominent role in the story and form part of the film's atmosphere.

Besides Cumberbatch, Pike and Hopkins, the cast also includes Cosmo Jarvis ('Lady Macbeth,' 'Inside') and Paddy Considine ('House of the Dragon').

'Wife and Dog' will be released in theaters in February 2027.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that the video service Paramount+ released the first teaser trailer and images from the second season of the hit series 'Gangsterland.' The continuation of the crime drama, in which the main characters sow chaos and try to hold on to power, will be released on September 18.
