HBO has released a new teaser for its upcoming "Harry Potter" series, showing the young wizard arriving at Hogwarts, being sorted into his house, and beginning his new life at the school of witchcraft and wizardry, reports infohub.kz.

Debut actor Dominic McLaughlin takes on the lead role. In the clip, Harry is sorted into Gryffindor, where he meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Together, they will not only learn the basics of magic but also uncover the mystery of the Philosopher's Stone.

The creators have showcased several scenes familiar to fans. Harry flies on a broomstick and takes part in a Quidditch match. The teaser also offers glimpses of lessons at Hogwarts, the Great Hall, and the school's professors.

Viewers will see John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Nick Frost as Hagrid, and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.

Ron Weasley will be played by Alastar Stout, and Hermione by Arabella Stanton. The young actors were chosen after an extensive casting search among British children.

The first season will cover the events of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone." HBO plans to adapt all seven books by J.K. Rowling.

The series premieres on December 25, 2026. HBO has already renewed the project for a second season.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that Rupert Grint will reprise his role as Ron Weasley 15 years after the last Harry Potter film. The actor will join the Broadway production of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" in New York.
