The concert of stand-up comedian Galym Kaliiakbarov in Almaty, scheduled for August 21, has been canceled. Kursiv LifeStyle correspondents investigated whether other performances by the artist suffered a similar fate after the incident in the capital, reports infohub.kz.

Recall that on August 19 in Astana, Kaliiakbarov's performance was interrupted: police officers together with akimat employees led the comedian backstage. The Astana city administration's department of internal policy explained to Kursiv that the reason was the lack of mandatory notification about the concert. According to the law of Kazakhstan "On Culture," notification is required for events with an expected audience of 200 or more. Eyewitnesses note that the capital's bar could not accommodate such a number of visitors.

The next day, it became known that the comedian's performance in Almaty, scheduled for August 21, was canceled. At the same time, there are no explanations regarding the incident on the official accounts of Kaliiakbarov, his wife, or the stand-up club in Astana. In the comments to Kaliiakbarov's posts, Kazakhs express support and ask if he needs help.

Amid the artist's silence, users wonder whether he has been "canceled." However, indirect signs indicate the opposite. Thus, stand-up comedian Madina Baibolova announced on her Instagram a joint performance with Galym Kaliiakbarov and Aina Musina on September 18 in Almaty. In addition, a world tour with the same lineup is planned for November.

The stand-up club in Almaty stated that the August concert of Kaliiakbarov was canceled by the artist's own decision.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that Kaliiakbarov became the hero of a documentary film about depression by Kazakh director Rinat Balgabaev.
