American rapper Kanye West has officially confirmed that his concert in Almaty, originally scheduled for August 14, has been postponed to August 15. The musician announced this on his social media, as reported by NUR.KZ. Earlier, spectators gathered at the Central Stadium were informed of the postponement after a long wait, as the artist never took the stage. In his address, Kanye West wrote: "Dear residents of Almaty! Due to weather conditions, today's concert is postponed to tomorrow. Health and safety are our priority. See you tomorrow!" — reports the website infohub.kz.
It is recalled that today a massive blackout occurred in Almaty, the Almaty region, and other regions of Kazakhstan. According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, the cause was a power surge in the energy system triggered by a sharp change in electricity flow from the Central Asian energy system. The widespread power outage in Almaty created problems before Kanye West's concert, but organizers continued to let spectators into the stadium. As for the weather, it decided to act up - literally an hour before the concert, the daytime heat gave way to a hurricane and lightning. Wind gusts tore down tents near the public toilet at the stadium. However, they were immediately reinstalled.
