Kazakh female athletes continue to delight fans: at the 2026 Central Asian Championships in Tashkent, they claimed two more gold medals, reports infohub.kz.

On the opening day of the competition in the Uzbek capital, Alina Chistyakova topped the podium with a best jump of 6.10 meters in the long jump. Silver went to another Kazakh, Anastasia Rypakova (6.09), daughter of Olympic champion Olga Rypakova. Rosario Tia Luisa of Singapore took bronze (5.95).

Kazakh runner Yulia Bashmanova won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.75 seconds. Her compatriot Antonina Chernyshova took bronze (14.58), while Uzbekistan's Lidiya Podsepikina claimed silver (13.84).

Another medal for Kazakhstan came from Akbilek Kuralbai, who won bronze in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10 minutes 51.59 seconds). She was only beaten by Uzbeks Dilshoda Usmonova (10:16.12) and Sadafbonu Nusratilloeva (10:39.10).

Thus, on the first day of the open Central Asian Championships, the Kazakh team won seven medals, including three golds. Earlier, javelin thrower Ulbolsyn Esirkep had also climbed to the top step of the podium.
