Kazakhstan's Minister of Education Zholdas Suleimenova announced the results of international accreditation of educational programs in the country's colleges. Teachers and students received certificates confirming that the programs meet global standards, reports infohub.kz.
During the event, the minister noted that 27 colleges underwent an assessment procedure to evaluate compliance of their educational programs with international industry and professional requirements. As a result of accreditation, 134 teachers and 347 students received international certificates.
“Since the beginning of the year, about 80 memorandums and agreements have been signed with foreign colleges in China, Germany, France, Turkey, South Korea, Finland, Canada, Singapore, Italy, the UK, and Switzerland on academic mobility, international industry accreditation, and other areas,” the minister explained.
Overall, she said, there are 763 colleges in Kazakhstan, with 556,000 students enrolled. “This year, under the state educational order, we plan to admit 133,000 students to colleges. 70% of the state educational order will be allocated to training personnel in technical fields. Based on applications from enterprises, we plan to admit more than 10,000 students with subsequent mandatory employment,” the minister concluded.
