Kazakhstan's Interior Ministry has brought administrative charges against nine social media users for spreading illegal and immoral content. The bloggers staged dangerous pranks, swore, and insulted people live on stream in pursuit of likes, donations, and views, reports infohub.kz.
The ministry publicly named the offenders for preventive purposes. Among them: Indira Eshtaeva (nickname "Bauyrsaq"), a 37-year-old resident of Astana, fined for petty hooliganism and profanity during a broadcast. Aktore Batyrbek (nickname "Aktore"), a 32-year-old from Almaty, received 5 days of arrest for insults and swearing live. In Shymkent, 20-year-old Daniyar Seidaliev staged a kidnapping with a stun gun on air – the court arrested him for 8 days. From Zhambyl region: 41-year-old Lailo Kasymova ("Altyn kyz") fined for profanity, and 19-year-olds Zharkynay Baibek and Asylzhan Tanabergenov held accountable for causing physical harm to each other on stream for donations.
Interior Ministry official spokesman Shyngys Alekeshev stressed that anonymity online will not help avoid punishment. "Do not assume you can hide behind an anonymous account or a phone screen. The ministry has all the necessary tools to identify any offender. Every such incident will be detected. Each violator will be held accountable according to the law," Alekeshev said.
The ministry added that checks are also carried out based on numerous citizen complaints about destructive content that sets a dangerous example for children and teenagers.
