Kazakh athlete Viktor Druzin once again stepped onto the podium at the Junior World Artistic Swimming Championships in Budapest, claiming a bronze medal in the men's solo free routine on the final day of competition, reports infohub.kz.
Druzin scored 257.1 points for his performance. Gold went to Russia's Zakhar Trofimov with 267.0 points, while Spain's Eneko Sanchez Aguilar took silver with 264.4.
This is Viktor's second bronze at the current world championships. Earlier, on August 12, he finished third in the technical solo, where the top three were identical: Trofimov won, and Sanchez Aguilar was second.
Druzin's bronze is the fourth medal for the Kazakh team at the 2026 Junior World Championships. The day before, Yasmina Islamova and Aldiyar Ramazanov won silver in the mixed duet free routine, and Kazakhstan also received a silver medal in the team acrobatic routine.
The Junior World Championships (U19) are being held in Budapest from August 12 to 16, with 300 athletes from 35 countries participating. A total of 11 medal events are contested. Kazakhstan is represented by 12 athletes.
