Kazakh tennis player Sonya Zhiyenbayeva continues to impress with her performances on the international stage. The 20-year-old athlete has claimed her second consecutive title at World Tennis Tour events, reports infohub.kz.

This time, Zhiyenbayeva triumphed at the W35 category tournament held in Vigo, Spain. In the final, the Kazakh, ranked 450th in the world, faced China's Yufei Ren, who is ranked 332nd in the WTA standings.

The match ended in a two-set victory for Zhiyenbayeva — 7:6 (8:6), 7:5. The players spent 1 hour and 46 minutes on court.

For Zhiyenbayeva, this trophy is her second consecutive title at World Tennis Tour events. A week earlier, she won the higher-category W75 tournament in Ourense, Spain, where she defeated Bulgaria's Isabella Shinikova in the final.

Thus, over two weeks in Spain, Zhiyenbayeva has secured two consecutive titles — W75 in Ourense and W35 in Vigo, continuing her successful run at the professional level.
