A 22-year-old woman in Kyzylorda has been arrested after she claimed that police punished her for laughing. Following an investigation, she was held accountable, according to infohub.kz.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs denied reports that the woman was punished for laughing. Today, her arrest was announced.
Police explained that officers noticed a car with open windows, loud music playing, and women inside shouting, disturbing the peace at night.
"Officers approached the vehicle, checked documents, and calmly explained the reason for the stop. They issued a verbal warning and let the woman go. No fine was issued, and she was not held administratively liable. The woman became emotional, spoke to officers in a raised voice, and began filming, after which she presented the incident on social media in a distorted manner," police said.
The entire conversation was recorded on body cameras, and no violations by police were found.
Today, the Ministry reported that the 22-year-old resident of Kyzylorda was held accountable for disturbing the peace at night, disobeying lawful police orders, petty hooliganism, and spreading false information.
By court decision, the woman was arrested. Additionally, she was fined and given an official warning.
"After the measures were taken, the woman deleted the relevant posts from social media. Police warn that disrespect towards officers, provocative behavior, and spreading false information will not go without legal consequences," officers added.
