Residents of the Zhetisu region managed to get a refund of 100,000 tenge for a trip to Vietnam that fell through, without going to court, reports infohub.kz.

According to the Committee for Consumer Rights Protection of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, the women had planned a vacation in Vietnam, but shortly before departure, the tour operator changed the terms of the tour.

Initially, the tourists agreed on a trip to Da Nang and Hoi An for 449,000 tenge. Each paid a prepayment of 50,000 tenge for booking, totaling 100,000 tenge. The money was transferred to a company representative, as confirmed by payment documents.

However, after the prepayment, the terms changed: instead of two cities, a route covering four was offered, and the price increased to 700,000–800,000 tenge. The women did not agree to the new terms, as they had expected the original itinerary.

Moreover, before the departure date (August 19, 2026), they were not provided with confirmations of flight tickets or bookings. When asked, the company representative replied that tickets would be purchased later.

Due to the changed terms and lack of confirmations, the tourists decided to cancel the trip and demanded a refund of their prepayment. Unable to resolve the issue on their own, one of the women turned to the Department of Trade and Consumer Protection of the Zhetisu region.

Attached to the complaint were payment documents, correspondence with the company representative, and other materials confirming the original terms and their changes.

Specialists looked into the situation and helped resolve the matter. In the end, the consumer and her companion received the full refund of 100,000 tenge without going to court.
