In 2027, the Kazakhfilm film studio plans to begin renovating its pavilions and comprehensively upgrading the rest of the complex's territory. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva during a working trip to Almaty, reports infohub.kz.

According to the official information resource of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Culture and Information, together with Kazakhfilm, is also working on major repairs of buildings and engineering networks, as well as further improvement of the studio's territory.

Balayeva stated that to preserve Kazakhfilm, state support measures were previously taken, including direct state funding.

"Unfortunately, we nearly lost the national film studio, which was artificially driven to bankruptcy and effectively reduced to an ordinary production company. To preserve Kazakhfilm, support measures were adopted at the legislative level, including provisions for direct state funding of the studio," she noted.

Currently, the studio is also implementing a project to digitize props and equipment and continues cooperation with private production companies. In addition, for the first time in 15 years, a partial cosmetic renovation was carried out at Kazakhfilm using attracted sponsorship funds.

During the trip, Balayeva, together with Almaty Mayor Darkhan Satybaldy, familiarized herself with the current state of the studio and its production potential.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that improvement of the territory near Kazakhfilm has already begun in Almaty. There are plans to create a thematic public space dedicated to the history of Kazakh cinema. The customer of the works is the Almaty Public Spaces Development Department; the project completion dates have not yet been announced.
