Kazakhstan's AI platform Echelon Alpha has presented the government with capabilities of artificial intelligence for operational analysis of markets, transport routes, and inter-industry economic links, reports infohub.kz.

The presentation took place at the Situation Center of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov reviewed the implementation of presidential instructions on digitalizing the transport sector and the presented modern IT solutions. Echelon Alpha was showcased among the digital developments being introduced in the transport sector.

"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has emphasized the priority of further building a state of digital services. Digitalization and artificial intelligence must bring tangible benefits to citizens, businesses, and the state. The government's task is to accelerate the adoption of useful AI solutions across all sectors of the economy. I instruct that the projects presented today for the technological transformation of the transport sector be fully implemented across the country as soon as possible," stressed Olzhas Bektenov.

One of the key areas of Echelon Alpha is aviation. The system models a prospective network of direct and transit flights through Kazakhstan, assessing demand, economics, and competitiveness of routes. The model is trained on about 200 million flights through 190 hubs and aggregates information from over 70 open sources. Cross-checking with state databases showed accuracy of results at 95%.

"Echelon Alpha uses artificial intelligence to analyze market dynamics in real time and provide a basis for fast, accurate decisions. This is a joint project with the Ministry of Transport: the system builds an optimal route network and forecasts the commercial viability of any direction," noted Rakhman Asambaev, CEO of Echelon Alpha.

The platform also allows detailed analysis of the economics of individual routes. For example, when modeling the Hyderabad–Astana–Moscow route, the system considers over 170 airline reports, current ticket and fuel cost data, and compares the potential route with existing ones.

Moreover, it evaluates not only commercial viability but also the state effect of developing the air network—direct and indirect revenues, tax receipts, and impact on the economy. According to the presented calculations, the potential cumulative effect could reach 70 billion tenge per year, and the economic effect per passenger is estimated at about $25.

However, aviation is just one part of the platform's capabilities. At its core is the analytical engine "Echelon," which integrates data from various industries and models their mutual influence. For instance, changes in oil refining volumes can affect fuel balance, tax revenues, transport, and other economic sectors. The digital solution allows assessing the consequences of such changes in advance and forming development scenarios.

Thus, Echelon Alpha transforms work with large data arrays into a format of operational scenario analysis, helping to quickly assess risks, find new opportunities, and make decisions considering the interconnections between industries.

Olzhas Bektenov instructed to strengthen the integration of information systems in transport and related sectors to enhance safety, reduce timelines, and optimize costs. The adoption of analytical solutions could contribute to more efficient use of indicators, operational analysis of changes, and improved quality of decision-making.
