Exports of fresh cucumbers from Kazakhstan to Russia's Perm region have surged, with nearly 1,700 tons shipped since the start of 2026 — 3.8 times more than the 429 tons delivered in the same period last year, reports Novy Kompanion.

According to the regional office of Rosselkhoznadzor, a fresh 18-ton batch arrived in the Perm region on July 15. Before market entry, specialists collected samples for laboratory testing. The analyses found no quarantine objects, clearing the shipment for sale and use.

The increase in shipments reflects growing exports of Kazakh vegetable products to the Russian market. Each batch undergoes mandatory phytosanitary control before being placed on sale.

Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan had stopped importing Russian cucumbers.
