A court in the Zhambyl region has held two 19-year-old residents accountable for petty hooliganism during live TikTok streams. They intentionally caused physical harm to each other and used obscene language to attract donations and viewers, reports infohub.kz.
The Baizak District Court heard two administrative cases under part 1 of Article 434 of the Administrative Code. It was established that in July 2026, the residents of Sarykemer village, while at home, deliberately inflicted bodily harm on each other during streams and repeatedly used profanity, showing disrespect for others and disturbing public order.
Their guilt was confirmed by protocols, social media monitoring materials, witness explanations, and video recordings of the streams. The woman fully admitted guilt, expressed remorse, and requested community service due to low income. The young man also confessed and asked for a fine.
The court considered mitigating circumstances for the woman: admission of guilt, remorse, and her young age. No aggravating factors were found. She was sentenced to 30 hours of community service, and the man was fined 86,000 tenge. The rulings have not yet come into force.
Earlier in Kazakhstan, nine streamers were held accountable for staging abductions, fights, and using obscene language. Two cases occurred in the Zhambyl region: one woman was fined 86,500 tenge for profanity during streams, and two other 19-year-old streamers were referred to court for causing harm to each other.
