Kazakhstan has not imposed a moratorium on the dismissal of law enforcement officers and military personnel, reports infohub.kz.
The Center for Countering Disinformation under the Central Communications Service has refuted information circulating in messengers about an alleged ban on dismissals and personnel transfers in the security forces.
The Center's publication notes that a text is being spread in chats claiming that from November 2026 to February 2027, a complete ban on dismissals and personnel transfers of employees of law enforcement and special state bodies, as well as the armed forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is introduced.
To lend credibility, the authors of the message refer to the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Bringing the Labor Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan into Compliance." However, as experts emphasize, this law does exist but does not contain such provisions. It lacks norms on introducing a moratorium on dismissals, transfers, appointments, or other personnel changes for the specified period.
An additional sign of unreliability is the absence in the circulated text of mandatory document requisites: the state body that issued the order, the date and number of the document, the specific legal norm on which the moratorium is based, and the official on whose behalf the instruction is given.
Thus, in this case, a real regulatory act is used as a basis to lend credibility to information that is not contained in it.
