English football club Burnley has announced the loan signing of Kazakhstan national team forward Dastan Satpayev, sparking an unprecedented buzz among Kazakh fans. The club's latest Instagram post was flooded with comments from users in Kazakhstan, reports infohub.kz.
Burnley posted a video of Dastan Satpayev, who joined the club on loan from London's Chelsea. In the caption, the club wrote: "The first player from Kazakhstan to sign for Burnley." A separate photo of the player was also published.
Both posts drew a huge response from Kazakh users. Comments included: "Burnley will finish in the top three of the Premier League this season," "Go on, lad, score a goal," "Sättilik Dastan," "Oooo Dastan Satpayev," "All Kazakhs have supported Burnley since childhood," "Alǵa, Dastan!," "Good luck, mate," and "Burnley's social media admin is shocked by the number of comments."
Earlier, London's Chelsea officially announced the transfer of the player from Almaty's Kairat, as he turned 18 on August 12. Chelsea also confirmed that Satpayev would be loaned to Burnley for the upcoming season.
Later, Dastan Satpayev himself commented on the temporary move to Burnley. "This is just the beginning. The loan is a new experience that will make me stronger. The best is yet to come, Insha'Allah! Alǵa, Qazaq elim," the athlete wrote.
