On July 27, a storm warning was issued in Kazakhstan due to extreme heat, thunderstorms, hail, strong winds, and dust storms, reports the website infohub.kz.
According to Kazhydromet, hazardous weather is expected in Almaty, Shymkent, and all 17 regions of the country. The highest temperatures are forecast in Kyzylorda and Turkistan regions, reaching +40 to +42°C, with an extreme fire danger persisting.
Intense heat up to +35 to +38°C is also expected in the Ulytau region, as well as in Akmola, Kostanay, and Almaty regions. Unstable conditions with rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are possible in Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, and Abay regions, as well as mountainous areas of Almaty, Zhambyl, and Zhetisu regions.
In West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Turkistan, and Aktobe regions, dust storms are expected in some areas. Wind gusts across many regions will strengthen to 15–23 m/s, and on certain mountain passes in Turkistan region, gusts may reach 25 m/s. In Almaty, extreme fire danger remains, and in the Ile Alatau mountains, brief rain and thunderstorms are possible during the day, with wind strengthening to 15–20 m/s.
In Shymkent, northeast winds with gusts up to 15–20 m/s are forecast. Strengthening winds, along with rain and thunderstorms in some places, are also expected in Aktau, Zhezkazgan, Konayev, Uralsk, Taraz, Semey, and Pavlodar.
