Kazakhstan's Ministry of Internal Affairs has published an appeal on its official Telegram channel to foreign nationals in the country, as well as to their hosts and employers, urging strict compliance with migration legislation, infohub.kz reports.
In the appeal, police reminded the public of the requirement to follow the established procedure for notifying the migration service. In particular, foreigners must submit notification within three working days of arriving in Kazakhstan.
Foreign nationals are also required to monitor their permitted period of stay in the country, the validity of their visa and relevant permits, reside at the address specified during registration, carry out work in line with legal requirements and keep track of their passport's validity.
Separate recommendations are addressed to Kazakh citizens, primarily employers. The Interior Ministry said that when hiring a foreign national, the migration service must be notified within three working days. Foreign labor may not be employed without the appropriate permit.
Employers are also obliged to promptly notify the migration service of the termination of an employment contract or the departure of a foreign national from the country. The ministry stressed that liability is provided for violating legal requirements.
Police called on everyone to comply with migration legislation and to help strengthen law and order and ensure public safety.
