The largest share of Kazakh citizens has an average monthly income of between 150,000 and 300,000 tenge. As of September 2026, 30.9% of surveyed Kazakhstanis reported income at that level, according to infohub.kz.

The National Bank has published the results of its latest survey of the population's inflation expectations, conducted by the research company FusionLab. The study covered 1,500 Kazakhstanis over the age of 18 from various regions of the country.

Respondents were asked about their average monthly income. The answers broke down as follows:

up to 40,000 tenge — 3.9% of respondents;

40,001–70,000 tenge — 3.9%;

70,001–100,000 tenge — 5.4%;

100,001–150,000 tenge — 12.6%;

150,001–300,000 tenge — 30.9%;

300,001–500,000 tenge — 23.6%;

more than 500,001 tenge — 13.4%;

found it difficult to answer — 6.2%.

Most families in Kazakhstan build their budgets on wages — 75.4% of survey participants said so.

State payments were the second most important source. Nearly a third of respondents (33.2%) said they receive pensions, stipends or various social benefits.

Another 11.4% reported having sources of income other than official wages, state assistance and support from relatives. Financial help from relatives or alimony is received by 9.2% of Kazakh families.

It is worth noting that, according to the Bureau of National Statistics, average incomes in Kazakhstan stood at 410,000 tenge in the second quarter, with social payments accounting for 24.2% of that. In regions such as Abai Region and North Kazakhstan Region, benefits and pensions already account for nearly a third of residents' incomes.
