Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported that search efforts are underway for another Kazakh citizen who went missing during the floods in Nepal, according to infohub.kz.
As the press service told NUR.KZ correspondent, two female citizens of Kazakhstan are currently being searched for, who were presumably in the disaster zone on the border between Nepal and China. "As previously reported, one of them crossed the border between the two countries as part of a tourist group. The Kazakh MFA is working with local state authorities and is in contact with the relatives of our compatriots," the statement said.
It should be recalled that earlier it became known that a landslide occurred in the area of the border crossing between China and Nepal, which affected road traffic, communications, and electricity supply. Later, a powerful flood was reported, as a result of which thousands of people went missing. The cause of the major flood was said to be an earthquake and the subsequent landslide.
After that, the Kazakh MFA reported the first data on the country's citizens. On August 27, it became known about the search for a tourist from Kazakhstan who crossed the border from China to Nepal as part of a tourist group.
