Since the beginning of 2026, transport police have issued 267,733 tourist cards with QR codes to foreign citizens, reports infohub.kz.
According to Polisia.kz, the informational materials are distributed upon entry into Kazakhstan, including at international airports, railway stations, and in passenger trains.
The cards are issued when crossing the border. Another campaign took place at the international airport in Astana. Police handed out more than 200 cards to arriving passengers on flights from Moscow, Antalya, Tashkent, Nha Trang, and Bishkek.
According to Askar Zhumabekov, head of the transport police department at Astana airport, foreigners' interest in Kazakhstan is growing. The average daily passenger flow at the capital's international airport is 12,000–13,000 passengers.
"Our goal is to guarantee absolute law and order and create the safest and most comfortable environment for both citizens of the country and foreign guests," he noted.
The QR code on the card leads to the Safetravel.kz portal and mobile app. There, foreign guests can find necessary information: emergency contacts, migration registration rules, taxi and mobile operator details, as well as personal safety recommendations.
The information is available in Kazakh, Russian, English, and Chinese.
During the campaign, transport police also explained the requirements of Kazakhstan's migration legislation to foreigners.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan approved uniform requirements for guides and tour leaders. Under the new rules, foreigners will no longer be able to lead tours in Kazakhstan. Now, to work as a guide, tour leader, or tourism instructor, one must have Kazakhstani citizenship and submit a notification to the competent authorities via eLicense.kz.
