A resident of the Kostanay region returned a grant of 1.38 million tenge to the budget after prosecutors found it was misused, reports infohub.kz.
According to the prosecutor's office's official website, the Auliekol district prosecutor's office established that in 2023, a citizen was granted 1,380,000 tenge in state support for a business project.
However, the equipment purchased with the grant was not actually used for its stated purpose. Moreover, its technical specifications did not match the information in the submitted reports.
Based on the prosecutor's office's materials, a pre-trial investigation was launched on suspicion of fraud.
During the investigation, the grant recipient fully compensated the state for the damage, voluntarily returning the entire amount to the budget.
Given the admission of guilt, voluntary compensation, and other legally stipulated circumstances, the criminal case was closed on non-rehabilitating grounds.
