Kazakhstan has decided to revoke registration certificates for the medicinal product Tramadol Lannacher in dosages of 100 mg and 150 mg. The corresponding order was signed by Bauyrzhan Dzhussipov, Chairman of the Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, reports infohub.kz.
According to the document, the registration certificates for the medicinal product Tramadol Lannacher, retard tablets, film-coated, 100 mg, 150 mg, with numbers LP-No.011908-RG-KZ and LP-No.011907-RG-KZ, are subject to revocation. The registration certificate holder is the Russian company LLC Bausch Health.
Territorial divisions of the Committee have been instructed to notify all local healthcare authorities of regions and cities, as well as other state bodies, of the registration revocation within one day. Control over the execution of the order is assigned to the supervising deputy chairman of the Committee.
As Lada.kz notes, the revocation of registration does not mean the complete disappearance of Tramadol from the shelves of Kazakhstani pharmacies. It concerns only the specific drug Tramadol Lannacher in dosages of 100 mg and 150 mg from a particular supplier. Other medicinal products containing tramadol will still be available in the country's pharmacies.
The Committee emphasized that the revocation of registration certificates is not related to the identification of non-compliance of the drugs with quality, efficacy, or safety requirements.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Tramadol is dispensed exclusively by prescription in pharmacies holding a special license. Over-the-counter sales of this psychotropic analgesic may result in criminal liability for pharmacists and medical workers, with imprisonment from 10 to 15 years.
