Kazakh Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov said the republic has sent Russia an official request to resume the pumping of Kazakh oil through the Druzhba pipeline and is now awaiting a response, infohub.kz reports.

The minister spoke to journalists on the sidelines of a government meeting. He was asked whether Kazakh oil deliveries via Druzhba are planned for November and December, and what the prospects are for 2027.

"The technical capability for supplies exists. The Kazakh side has sent an official request and is awaiting a response from the Russian side on resuming them," Akkenzhenov said.

According to him, specific timelines can only be given once a response is received from the Russian side. The energy minister also said Kazakhstan's oil production in 2027 will be around 99 million tonnes.

In April, Akkenzhenov spoke about the suspension of oil supplies through Druzhba. He noted that transit of Kazakh oil would resume once the issue of technical capability was resolved.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak later explained the suspension of Kazakh oil deliveries to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary to Russian President Vladimir Putin, also commented on the situation.

It was also reported that Kazakhstan changed its oil export routes to Germany because of the situation with Druzhba.
