In Kazakhstan, officials have clarified whether a school can exclude a student from classes for not wearing the school uniform, and what liability parents face for violating dress code requirements, reports infohub.kz.

First Vice Minister of Education Shynar Akparova, speaking at a briefing at the Central Communications Service, reminded that according to the Law "On Education," removing children from the educational process is not allowed. "A child has the right to receive quality education. Therefore, it is not allowed, it is impossible to not let a child into school if he or she came in clothes that do not meet the requirements for school uniform," she emphasized.

At the same time, liability is provided for parents for violating the requirements of the legislation. Akparova explained that Article 47 of the Law "On Education" concerns students, while Article 49 obliges parents to ensure compliance with the rules of wearing school uniforms established by the educational organization together with the parent committee and the board of trustees. For non-compliance with these norms, an administrative fine of 5 MCI is provided, which amounts to 21,625 tenge.
