Kazakhstan has officially become a participant in South Korea's legal employment system, allowing Kazakhstani citizens to apply for official jobs in the country starting in 2028, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Korean side's decision, Kazakhstan became the 18th country included in the E-9 system. The current list also includes the Philippines, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Cambodia, China, Bangladesh, East Timor, Nepal, Myanmar, and Laos. In addition to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan represent Central Asia.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan noted that a set of organizational measures still needs to be completed, including the signing of an intergovernmental memorandum of understanding and the establishment of an EPS-TOPIK center in Kazakhstan for Korean language testing. Participation in EPS will allow Kazakhstani citizens to undergo selection through the official system rather than through informal intermediaries.
To obtain a job in South Korea, candidates will need to pass several stages, including language testing, professional skills assessment, and medical examination. However, the ministry warned: before the official launch of the procedure, one should not transfer money to intermediaries offering "guaranteed employment in Korea" or promising accelerated selection.
"All information about registration deadlines, candidate requirements, testing procedures, and other stages will be communicated to citizens through official ministry sources," the ministry summarized.
