On the upcoming Monday, September 9, most of Kazakhstan will experience abnormally hot weather with temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, while western regions will be affected by cooler air masses bringing heavy precipitation, reports infohub.kz.
According to the forecast published by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, temperatures in major cities will remain consistently high, but weather conditions will vary significantly by region.
In the capital, Astana, expect partly cloudy skies with no precipitation. Daytime temperatures will reach +30…+32°C, dropping to +14…+16°C at night.
In Almaty, partly cloudy weather is also forecast with no rain. Daytime highs will be +31…+33°C, with nighttime lows of +15…+17°C.
In Shymkent, forecasters predict partly cloudy skies, but a brief rain with thunderstorms is possible during the day. Air temperatures will reach +33…+35°C during the day and +18…+20°C at night. An additional risk factor will be wind gusts reaching 15–20 meters per second.
As a result, a storm warning has been issued for September 9, 2026, across Kazakhstan. A sharp deterioration in the synoptic situation in several regions will be accompanied by local thunderstorms and severe dust storms, requiring heightened caution from drivers and pedestrians.
