According to Kazhydromet forecasters, much of Kazakhstan will see rain with thunderstorms, heavy downpours, hail, and gusty winds in the coming days, with heavy rains expected in the east and dust storms possible in the Turkestan region, while the south continues to experience scorching heat up to 44°C, reports infohub.kz.
The highest temperatures are forecast in Kyzylorda region — up to 44°C. Thermometers will reach 42°C in Turkestan and Mangystau regions, and 41°C in southern and eastern parts of Aktobe region. Heat of 35–38°C is also expected in Atyrau, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Kostanay, Akmola, Almaty, North Kazakhstan, as well as Zhetisu, Ulytau, and Abai regions.
In Astana, daytime temperatures will rise to 35°C.
Due to the heat, high or extreme fire danger persists in most regions. The most critical situation is expected in Kyzylorda, Turkestan, Zhambyl, Atyrau regions, as well as parts of Almaty, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Aktobe, Kostanay, Akmola, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Mangystau regions, and Abai, Zhetisu, Ulytau regions.
Storm alerts have been issued across nearly the entire country. In Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Abai, and East Kazakhstan regions, thunderstorms, hail, squalls, and wind gusts up to 23 m/s are forecast. Pavlodar region also expects thunderstorms and hail, while Atyrau and Mangystau regions will see thunderstorms with strengthening winds. In Turkestan region, gusts may reach 28 m/s.
Earlier, forecasters promised that in August some regions would cool down to 25°C.
